This course considers church history from the reformation to the present day. Working chronologically, lectures will pay special attention to the rise of Irish Baptists and the growth of evangelicalism in Ireland.

Learning Outcomes

  • Knowledge of key themes in the history of the church from the sixteenth century to the present day

  • Ability to interpret relevant primary sources

  • Ability to adjudicate key debates in relevant historiography

  • Ability to articulate arguments in two essays appropriate to the level of study
