Through a study of biblical, classical, and contemporary materials, this course will assist the student in fulfilling the exhortation of Jude 20–21, “Beloved, build yourselves up in your most holy faith; pray in the Holy Spirit; keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads unto eternal life” (ESV).

Learning Outcomes

  • describe biblical spirituality and the spiritual traditions of the Church

  • illustrate the practice of spiritual disciplines as rooted in the Scriptures

  • develop spiritual disciplines into our life, language, and thought
